A Jimo Química é uma empresa familiar 100% brasileira. Em 21 de janeiro de 1956, o químico Julio J. Morandi registrava, oficialmente, sua empresa de inseticidas, com o nome comercial de Julio J. Morandi e marca fantasia JIMO. A sigla unia a primeira letra do seu nome e do nome de sua esposa Ieda, também química e grande pesquisadora, além da sílaba inicial do sobrenome do casal Morandi. Tudo começou dentro de sua própria residência, na Avenida Ceará, Zona Norte de Porto Alegre, no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Em 1973, entrou na sociedade a segunda geração dos Morandi. A empresa passou a se chamar Jimo Química Industrial Ltda. Em 1981, a JIMO mudou a fábrica e a logística para o Distrito Industrial de Cachoeirinha, no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, mas o escritório de vendas ainda permaneceu em Porto Alegre.

About JIMO

Our history was born from a passion for chemistry.
On January 21, 1956, in Porto Alegre/RS, the dream of a young couple of chemists took shape: the Jimo insecticide factory was born. Julio and Ieda combined their initials with the first syllable of the family surname — Morandi — and thus created the Jimo brand.
We started with the production of household insecticides, but our restless and innovative essence led us to constantly expand our product portfolio and areas of operation. Today, headquartered in Cachoeirinha/RS, we manufacture more than 120 SKUs distributed across eleven distinct product lines. These are pioneering and innovative solutions that have gained space in Brazil and Latin America, always guided by our commitment to Proven Quality — a value that inspires everything we do.
We are a company built to last. We are very proud of our history and driven by a constant passion for what is yet to come. The legacy that began with Julio and Ieda is still nurtured and built today, every day, by each person who is part of our journey. It is this solid foundation that drives us to keep dreaming, creating, and transforming — always with chemistry as an ally to improve people’s lives.
